Front end posting is a good way to accept posts, content and other stuffs without giving access to the admin dashboard area.
it not only ensure the security and privacy but also gives a kind of more control over user submissions.
I think wpform is best for this task as it would suffice for other forms related task as well.
I have used memberpress and found it to very good for making private community and members only area.
